What is Casa de Vida?
Casa de Vida: Alzheimer's and Dementia Respite Care
Casa de Vida was established in 2007 as an onsite day program that provides a weekly respite break for family caregivers of persons with early to mid-stage dementia, including Alzheimer’s. Our trained volunteer staffed programming results in family caregivers who are renewed and refreshed by short term relief. Additionally, persons with dementia enjoy social and creative activities.
Caring Companion volunteers are a very special element of this program. A Caring Companion is assigned to each participant. The Caring Companion is there to reassure the participant, provide one-on-one care and provide weekly continuity. All volunteers participate in regular training.
Casa Participants are individuals of any faith, race, or ethnicity who are in the early to moderate stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. The cost is $15 per weekly session (Scholarships are available).
Casa de Vida meets weekly on Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
